5. Objectives
  • To enhance an academic research for APEC Learning Community
  • To share knowledge and experience of ICT use in education among APEC member economies
  • To share cultural and educational information among APEC member economies
  • To set up a human network for international cooperation in education
  • To take a chance to publicize APEC internationally preparing "APEC 2005"
6. Participants Total participants number: 231 people
  • Korean ALCoB : 83 (1st ALCoB:35, 2nd ALCoB:48)
  • Foreign ALCoB/EDNET CP: 53
  • Korean ALCoB Learners (students):28
  • Korean officers from the Ministry of Education, invited guests in related government offices and institutes: 52
  • Board members of IACE, and IACE Staffs: 15

7. Achievements
  • Composition of Steering Committee which consists of 13 economies for "APEC Future Education Consortium"
    • Steering Committee members all agreed to participate in "Future Education Consortium" which is a continuing project reflecting the "APEC Learning Community for Shared Prosperity(ALCom)" project.
    • The 13 Steering Committee members of "ACEC: APEC Future Education Consortium" are like follows: Australia, Brunei, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
    • "Researcher Committee" which consists of Korea, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan and Mexico was composed as a key group who will pursue the "Future Education Consortium".
  • Agree to main agenda of "APEC Future Education consortium" in 2005 (Academic Seminar, APEC ICT Model School Network, ICT EXPO, ALCoB Seminar, Steering Committee and etc.)
    • Next Steering Committee Meeting is expected to be held this coming October, and the host place will be announced as soon as finalizing more specific schedule of it. (The host place will be chosen between China and Thailand)
  • Proposal of 12 New ALCoB Projects (formal 11 projects are on working.)
    • 12 ALCoB Projects with 124 project participants from 11 economies are newly proposed during the conference.
    • Those New ALCoB Projects are expected to be developed more cooperatively by on-line activities.
  • Agree to co-host next International ALCoB Conference 2005 with Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education and KERIS
