 Award Ceremony: APEC International Essay Contest

   The APEC International Essay Contest Award Ceremony was held
   at the APEC International Media Center in BEXCO on November 17.


   Ambassador Choi Jong-moo, Executive Director of the Preparatory
   Office for APEC 2005 presented prizes to the winners.


   Ms. Ko Jin-sook, an elementary school teacher
   from Jeju-do Island won the first prize
   with "About the Precious Friendship"[Korean],
   in which she describes her experiences
   in undertaking a joint project with an Indonesian school
   as a part of APEC ICT Model School Project.

  
   Her essay emphasizes the importance of
   promoting private sector cooperation among APEC economies.


   The APEC International Essay Contest was held
   for the purpose of enhancing APEC awareness in all APEC economies
   and developing fresh ideas on the future of APEC.
   A total of 184 essays from 15 member economies were received
   in the contest.
