The New Zealand Ministry of Education expressed their willingness to join ACEC (APEC Cyber Education Cooperation) to participate in projects and exchange information on ICT. The chairman of ACEC has accepted it with great excitement.

In a letter from the New Zealand Ministry of Education, they stated that “the New Zealand Ministry of Education supports the vision and the goals of ACEC for creating a community in the APEC region and for narrowing the digital divide in that region. We hope to discuss further on the ways for us to contribute to ACEC by sharing our knowledge and experience, and implementing ACEC activities effectively.”

The following is key personnel from the New Zealand Ministry of Education to work with ACEC toward its goals:

* Neil Scotts, International Unit, Ministry of Education
* Murray Brown, Manager, ICT in Education Team, Curriculum Teaching and Learning Division, Ministry of Education
* Steve Benson, Senior Manager, Learning Policy Frameworks Team, Curriculum Teaching & Learning Division, Ministry of Education

It is--expected that New Zealand will participate in various projects and other information exchange acitvities even more actively. This will also help ALCoB blossom in New Zealand.
